Can I Get a Government Grant for Social Media Marketing in Singapore?
If you've been looking for a social media or digital marketing agency in Singapore, you've probably come across agencies advertising "up to 50% support with PSG."
Which raises a reasonable question: can the Government actually subsidise the cost of your social media marketing?
The short answer is: partly, but with much tighter limits than many agencies suggest. The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. Since 30 September, new applications go through the EDGE Grant, which brings PSG, EDG and MRA into one framework.
So if you're comparing agencies or considering a grant-supported package, here's what we'd want you to know.
Did PSG Cover Social Media Marketing?
Only in certain cases. PSG supported pre-approved solutions, and some pre-approved digital marketing packages included social media-related deliverables, depending on the approved scope.
PSG was never a general marketing subsidy where you engaged whichever agency you liked and submitted their invoice. Businesses had to choose an eligible solution from an approved vendor, and the quotation had to match the approved scope.
Could I Use PSG to Hire Any Social Media Agency?
No, and this was one of the biggest misconceptions around PSG and marketing. An agency offering social media management wasn't automatically a PSG-approved vendor.
For complete transparency, FTLOS is not a PSG pre-approved vendor, so our social media services were not claimable under PSG. We think that's worth being upfront about, particularly if you're weighing a grant-supported package against a regular agency retainer.
What Happens to Existing PSG Projects?
If you already had a PSG application or approved project, nothing disappears overnight. Existing submissions and projects continue to be processed, and claims can be submitted once the project is complete.
What Does EDGE Offer for Digital Marketing?
EDGE offers up to 70% support for SMEs and up to 50% for non-SMEs across its activities, with a cap of S$100,000 per year. The rate depends on the activity.
For digital marketing specifically, EnterpriseSG lists a Digital Marketing activity under Automation and Digitalisation:
Up to 50% support for SMEs, capped at S5,000(up to 30% and $3,000 for non-SMEs)
Aimed at digital marketing campaign management solutions that help businesses create, run and optimise online campaigns
Supported costs include software, capped at 12 months
Costs from the date of application are covered once approved
Counts towards the S$30,000 Automation and Digitalisation sublimit
The baseline requirements are a business registered and operating in Singapore, at least 30% Singaporean and/or PR ownership, and not a home-based business.
Will EDGE Cover a Social Media Agency Retainer?
Based on the official listing, we wouldn't assume so.
The Digital Marketing activity is built around campaign management solutions and software costs, with a maximum of S$5,000 in support for SMEs. That's very different from "70% of your agency fees." Ongoing content creation, community management and ad spend are not described as supported costs.
Some vendors are already advertising EDGE-supported digital marketing packages. If you're considering one, ask which official EDGE activity it falls under, which costs are eligible, and what you'd pay out of pocket.
One rule matters: don't start work, pay a vendor or place a deposit before you submit your application.
You can check what your business may qualify for through the BizSG portal or the EDGE page on the EnterpriseSG website.
Should I Choose a Social Media Agency Based on Grant Support?
We'd turn the question around.
What does your social media actually need?
If you mainly need a campaign tool or a few months of Meta Ads support, a grant-supported option could be a good fit.
But perhaps the problem is bigger. Maybe nobody has time for consistent content creation. Your messaging doesn't feel clear. You don't have enough original photos or videos. Your team is constantly scrambling for ideas, or your social media gets attention without turning it into enquiries.
Those problems need a different conversation. Figure out what isn't working first, then decide what kind of support would solve it. If a grant can help fund part of that, even better.
The grant should support the strategy, not determine it.
What Should I Compare in Any Marketing Package?
Start with the deliverables rather than the percentage.
Who develops the strategy?
How much original content is created?
Is photography or videography included?
Which platforms are covered?
Is community management included?
How are your ads managed, and what does reporting look like?
What happens after the initial period ends?
You don't want to reach the end of three months with plenty of posts published but no idea what comes next.
Looking for Social Media Support in Singapore?
FTLOS isn't a PSG pre-approved vendor, and we'd rather be clear about that from the start.
What we can do is help you figure out what your social media actually needs, whether that's strategy, original content creation, ongoing management or paid social, and build the support around your business rather than around a pre-set package.
If that sounds closer to what you're looking for, drop us a note and let's chat.
